Imphal, March 13 2023: Volunteers of Neinasang (Study Club), Machin Manao and Tera Loukrakpam Leikai Akham Leikai Apunba Nupi Lup (LAANL) rounded up 12 individuals for selling and abusing drugs yesterday during a search carried out at Sagolband Tera Loukrakpam Leikai.

A statement issued by Neinasang informed that one out of the twelve was allegedly a drug peddler.

He has been identified as Kshetrimayum Pritam s/o (L) Ksh Prasanta of Tera Loukrakpam Leikai.

The volunteers also seized two bullets and an unspecified amount of heroin powder from the alleged drug supplier.

Four persons out of the twelve nabbed were not residents of Sagolband Tera Loukrakpam Leikai and came here to purchase drugs, the statement claimed.

All of them have been admitted to rehabilitation centres after consulting with their parents and guardians, Neinasang added.

Meanwhile, the alleged drug supplier has been handed over to the police along with the seized items.

Neinasang has appealed to the State Government to take up stringent action against those who sell and abuse drugs and further urged the public to support the State Government's "War on Drugs" campaign to eliminate the scourge of drugs from Manipur society and save the youth.
