Imphal, August 08, 2014:
In its effort to facilitate public welfare of Chandel district, the Anal Lenruwl Tangpi (Anal Naga Students Union) Hqr Chandel had undertaken two day visit beginning from August 3 to Sulam area covering more than 10 villages with an objective to take concrete situation on the context of education, health and environment.
According to a press note issued by students body, the trip was a factual experience to see how the public in the remote struggle to ease their livelihood.
Road became muddy and not drivable due to heavy rainfall.
In deed very pathetic, how the school children must have suffered from lack of facilities.
It stated that Sulam area comprised of many tribal villages and is bordering Myanmar.
The infrastructure development program of this area is sensitively negligible.
Despite having physical advantage of trade activities, the state government of Manipur has not recognized the potentiality of the actual beneficiaries.
It is disheartening to witness, how the education department runs the administration in the district.
Every remote area school are neglected with an excuse that posted teachers are regularly absence due to absence of school children.
The state government needs to enforce regulation for effective management of school to provide confidence to the parents so that children are stop to attend class the statement added.
It also alleged that Mid Day Meal schemes are a dream for many remote area schools under Sulam area.
It is time to work out mechanism by seeking the cooperation from the public and implement all schemes effectively for the welfare and benefits of the next generation.
In the area of health related matter, these areas suffer most.
Despite having one primary health sub center at Larong (Ralruwng) village, the centre is at the verged of non functional.
There is no first aid facility available at PHSC due to absence of medical staff like a chowkidar, pharmacist, nurses and doctors.
The medical directorate must have posted many staff but we find them unavailable.
Therefore, the public have to carry any sick person/ patient to travel a long distance to Chandel district hospital.
Sensing the backwardness of this area, it is recommended to organize physical medical health camp to tackle any outbreak of epidemic or phenomenal sickness.
Accumulated wit many other disadvantages, irregular power supply has caused lot of hurdles for any development prospect.
No doubt, the government of India may extend schemes to electrify all remote villages, but, in reality the state government of Manipur must not be carried away by the report of the implementing agency.
Hard reality is different in these villages.
Avoiding any blame game, hereby suggest to the concern authority, that the ALT is prepared to extend any cooperation with the involvement of the public to extend the best power supply facility for development extension.
The ALT acknowledges every individual, government establishment and community leaders for moral, physical and financial support to carry out this noble venture.
We look forward to carry this exercise in other areas in future.
The ALT also extends its gratitude to Vomku youth and authority for hospitality shown to the visiting team.
