868 arms, 11,518 ammunition recovered : Advisor

Amid reports of sporadic gun fight between security forces and Kuki militants in some places, a total of 868 arms and 11,518 ammunition have been recovered so far, said Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh today.
During the last 24 hours, 57 arms and 318 ammunition and 5 bombs were recovered from Porompat police station, Imphal East and Sugnu police station, Kakching district, said the Security Advisor to the State Government.
While there is no curfew in six hill districts, restrictions have been relaxed for 12 hours in five valley districts and 8-10 hours in neighbouring hill districts, said Kuldiep Singh.
"Movement of essential items along NH-37 is ensured.
244 empty vehicles have left Imphal for Jiribam today.
A total of 212 loaded vehicles have left Noney and 212 loaded tankers and trucks left Jiribam today," he said.
Amid the present unrest in the State, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2023 for entrance to MBBS/BDS course was conducted peacefully at 22 centres in Imphal.
The examination was held in 12 centres in Imphal West and 10 centres in Imphal East.
The examination was conducted in a peaceful manner and the attendance was normal, said the Security Advisor.
Meanwhile, Ministers and MLAs of the State are visiting different areas of the State and appealing for peace and normalcy by mee-ting the public at large and CSOs.
The Security forces are also organising meetings with CSOs, village heads of different villages and making appeals for peace and normalcy, besides doing their duties of area domination, added the Security Advisor.
