11 Ojha Sanajaoba Memorial Lecture Demographic challenges deliberated

The 11th Ojha Sanajaoba Memorial Lecture was held today on the topic 'Demographic Challenges in Manipur and Remedies' .
The memorial lecture held at the National Research Centre, Canchipur under the aegis of the Ojha Sanajaoba Memorial Trust (OSMT) was graced by Bodoland University, Assam Vice-Chancellor Prof L Ladu Singh and Dhanamanjuri University Vice-Chancellor and OSMT president Prof N Rajmuhon as chief guest and president respectively.
RIMS Department of Biostatistics former head Prof RK Narendra gave a lecture on 'Demographic Challenges in Manipur and Remedies' while DM College of Science, Department of Statistics former head A Brajakumar Sharma attended the programme as guest of honour and observer.
The gathering also offered floral tributes to the photograph of late Prof Naorem Sanajaoba.
Later, a booklet titled Ojha Sanajaoba Documentation-I which comprises the memorial lecture's text, one article written by Prof Naorem Sanajaoba and another written by columnist late Haobam Sanajaoba were distributed to the people who attended the memorial lecture.
Further, prizes of the debating competition held on December 13, the death anniversary of Prof Naorem Sanajaoba under the aegis of the NRC Manipur and MSF were distributed.
Giving key-note address of the memorial lecture, OSMT managing trustee Sougrakpam Bhubol said that the trust has compiled and published a bibliography of pagProf Naorem Sanajaoba.
Further the trust has started collection and documentation of articles, features and columns written by Prof Naorem Sanajaoba, he said.
Bhubol said that the trust would document all the works and life of Prof Naorem Sanajaoba and Ojha Sanajaoba Documentation-I is a part of the same initiative.
There were no problems or issues which Prof Naorem Sanajaoba did not touch or study.
As such, every one needs to have a clear understanding of the life and works of the late Professor, Bhubol said.
Prof Naorem Sanajaoba grew up as a student leader and later became a teacher of law.
He also wrote a number of books and articles, Bhubol said.
What Prof Sanajaoba foresaw and wrote has become a reality now.
Taking serious note of the issue of influx, the Professor warned that the issue of influx would create chaos and unrest in the State, and this is exactly what is happening in the State now, he added.
