Will extend all possible assistance to stranded State natives : MLA

MLA of Wangoi Assembly Constituency, Oinam Lukhoi has assured all possible assistance to State natives who are stuck and left helpless at various cities of the country due to the Nationwide lockdown imposed to fight the spread of COVID-19."All possible assistance would be given to State natives stranded at cities across country," said the MLA on the sideline of handing out rice to the beneficiaries under Annapurna Scheme at his residence at Yumnam Huidrom Thiyam Leishankhong today.
Considering the plight of the students and other State natives who are stranded at different locations, the Government has been extending help and to further streamline the process of extending assistance, a new form which will collect the data of the stranded persons has been introduced.
The form can be filled and submitted online or personally by family members to the MLAs concerned, he said.
People from Wangoi AC who are stranded and in need of assistance may reach him with the form for necessary aid, he said.
Earlier, the MLA distributed rice to 74 beneficiaries under Annapurna Scheme.
Under the scheme, senior citizens (above 65 years of age) who are not covered by National Old Age Pension Scheme, are provided food security.
The selection of its beneficiary is done by District Social Welfare Officer, the MLA said.
The MLA also extended edibles to staff and inmates of various de-addiction and rehabilitation centres at Mayang Imphal Chabung Company, Samurou Oinam Lamkhai and Samurou Mayai Leikai.
