Twin awards for Kachai farmer

In a landmark history of Kachai village, a land of lemon, a Farmer was awarded Twin awards recently by the Friendship Forum of India.
Concerning with the prestigious Presidential Award given to K Thishak a felicitation function was held at Kachai community hall, 45 kilometres from the district headquartres recently by the village authority along with all the public of the village.
During the felicitation program K Thishak said that receiving such a prestigious Awards which he never dreamt of it before is the biggest surprise and achievement in his life time.
He also thanked God for being bestowed with such a precious award.
Nevertheless, Thishak, who also happens to be the President of Kachai Fruits Farming and Co-operative expresed gratitude to all the villagers for extending support, cooperation and encouragement all this year.
Elaborating his award, Thishak said he received the awards in two disciplines�one in Best leadership and the other in Best personalities under "Economic Growth and National unity" in recognising his outstanding contribution and praise-worthy achievement in his chosen field of activity and service rendered to promote greater friendship with enthusiastic service.
Kachai, which is famous for the product of lemon and its high quality with exquisite aroma has a great demand and farming lemon has become one of the main occupations of this village where every household in the village planted lemon all round the village.
The seeds of lemon were first brought from Maghalaya by one late grandfather of the village namely Paisho.
The village folks still give credit and loyalty to Paisho as the present generation is now enjoying the fruits.
