With State Govt not given any response to their charter of demands, Government college teachers have threatened to launch various agitation from December 1if the Govt do not give a positive response to the demands by November 30.In a meeting held at GP Women's college yesterday, the Government College Teachers Action Committee has resolved to discharge their duty wearing black badges till the election day of college students unions on December 7 after which more intense agitation be launched, informed a statement issued by the convenor of the Committee.
The charter of demands put forward by the Committee includes increment of retirement age to 62 years as per the UGC guidelines, payment of due arrears to approved teachers of all grades, payment of arrears to remaining teachers with P H D holders before 1996, link up of remaining teachers of ad-hoc period, opening of job oriented courses in colleges etc, mentioned the statement.
