ASHA training held

The 1st batch of 4 days VI module ASHA Training was held from Feb 21 to 24 at PHC Somdal in Ukhrul district under Ukhrul Block Prgramme Management unit of National Rural Health Mission.
Staff nurses of Ukhrul District Hospital Sirala and Kaphungwon, Block Programme Manager Wontharla, Block Finance Manager S Songachan and Medical Officer In-charge Dr R Ningsang were the main resource persons of the training programme participated by ASHA members of PHC Somdal, said a release issued by Block Programme Manager S.Wortharla.
Leprosy Department of Ukhrul District Hospital also sensitised the ASHA members on leprosy, the release said.
The main topics of the programme were : Role of ASHA, essential skills for an ASHA, importance of village health and nutrition day observance, maintenance of ASHA records for village health and sanitation committee, pregnancy diagnosis, essential components of AnteNatal check-up, safe deliverance, management of anaemia, post-partum care, new born baby health care and breast feeding, it said.
Expressing satisfaction over quality of ASHA training and functioning of the PHC by ensuring proper maintenance of records as per guidelines laid down by the ministry while interacting with Programme Manager Rajeev Irengbam, an evaluation team from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare New Delhi led by BB Sinha and A Arapha encouraged Ukhrul Block Programme Management unit and PHC Somdal to continue their work with great strides towards turning PHC Somdal as a model PHC for the country, it conveyed.
Informing all ASHA members concerned that the 2nd batch of VI module ASHA training under PHC Khangkhui and PHC Somdal will be held at TTA Conference Hall, Ukhrul from March 2 to 5, it said grievances faced by these two PHCs were taken note of in the presence of the central health ministry team during the training programme at PHC Somdal.
