DMC students warn

Joint Students Union of DM College said that they would launch various forms of protest if the State Government and the authorities concerned do not repair the roads within the DM college campus at the earliest.
During a press meet held today at DM College of Commerce, general secretary of DM College of Sciences, Yambem Ranjan said that the roads inside the DM College campus have been in pathetic conditions for the past many years.
Numerous complaints lodged to the authorities concerned have fallen on deaf ears, he rued.
He added that with the initiative of all the student bodies of DMC, a meeting with the Education Minister was held on Feb 16.The Minister assured them that the roads would be repaired as soon as possible.
But till now no concrete work has been taken up, he added.
To register protest against the alleged lackadaisical attitude of the authority concerned towards the plight of the students, the students have been launching class boycott stir for the past four days.
Besides, the entire roads of the college campus have been blocked.
Ranjan urged the Chief Minister, Works Minister and the Education Minister to look into the matter and initiate positive action towards this end.
He further said that the Joint Director of Education (U) Ojit visited the campus today and looked into the situation of the roads and gave another positive assurance to the students.
Demanding the immediate starting of the repair work by tomorrow itself, he warned of launching various forms of agitation if the authorities concerned fail to act positively.
