Samarjit's case files move to NIA Court

Imphal, November 25 2019:
Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West, has put up the case file and record of Lamphel police FIR registered against Narengbam Samarjit and Yambem Biren, before the Court of Special Judge, NIA, Manipur.
On November 22, Special Judge, NIA, Manipur, had directed CJM Imphal West to send all the files related to the case registered against Narengbam Samarjit s/o (L) Jugindro of Tera Loukrakpam Leikai and Yambem Biren s/o (L) Thambalngou of Terakhongsangbi Leimaram Leirak for declaring the independence of Manipur from the Union of India on October 29 and setting up a State Council in exile.
After registering a case against the two individuals, Lamphel PS sought permission from the CJM to allow police to conduct search at 16 offices and sub-offices of Salai Group Private companies which the Court granted.
Today, as per the direction of the Special Judge, NIA, Manipur, CJM Imphal West put up all files relating to the case.
Mention may be made that a few days back, the Central Government directed the NIA to take over the case of Manipur Government in exile headed by self styled Chief Minister Yambem Biren and self styled External Affairs and Defence Minister Narengbam Samarjit.
The two individuals announced formation of the Government in exile in London during a press conference on October 29 .
