Imphal, May 25 2014:
Reacting to the press statement of the PRO, IGAR (S) regarding the setting up of designated camp for the so called KNLF at Semol village, KNLF/KPA chairman Palen Misao alias KT Misao asserted that the KNLF group, whose camp is proposed to be set up at Semol, is 'pseudo KNLF' and posed to the Govt as well as the army as to why they have been entertaining fake KNLF without proper verifi-cation.
In a statement, KT Misao, chairman of KNLF/KPA said that initially the KNLF/KPA under the leadership of its founding chairman Khup-thang alias Palen Misao sett- led at a UNLF camp in Mya-nmar.
However, one of its ca- dres, Tilthang Khongsai deserted and formed a 'pseudo KNLF' under the patronage of KNA/KNO at Moreh.
With the help of the KNA/KNO, he assembled local youths of Moreh including auto drivers, rickshaw pullers and labourers on payment of Rs 2000 per head and then staged a surrender drama before the Govt and subsequ- ently a home coming cere-mony was held for them on Sept 9, 2013, it said while asserting that 'the genuine KNLF still refuses to come forward for a home coming ceremony' .
The self-styled chairman of 'pseudo KNLF,' Helun Haokip made a futile attempt to claim the chiefship of New Samtal village.
It further urged the Govt and the Army to stop encouraging factionalism among the Kukis.
And this kind of divisive policy would not solve the problems but create more problems.
