Chandel, December 24 2015 :
Reacting to the statement issued by Robert Singh Kshetrimayum, Deputy Commissioner Chandel district, on December 22, regarding advent Christmas celebration at DC Office complex, Chandel, organized by the District Administration on December 12, Kuki Chiefs' Association (KCA), Chandel, Kuki Peoples' Forum (KPF), Chandel, Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Chandel and Thadou Students' Association (TSA), Chandel, in a joint statement have alleged that the function was organised in a communal manner.
The DC in his statement had said that none of the invited guests were given opportunity to speak other than Mathew Maring.
He had also alleged that no one including the secretary of KCA, Chandel approached him to deliver a speech at the program.
The organisations asked, "If so, why he invited the stakeholders to sit quiet in his personal interest ? And why the compere of the occasion called up him (Mathew) in the name of NPF to deliver speech?" .
On top of that if the program was not set in communal line, why the persons belonging to a particular community and party from amongst the elected members were invited to deliver a speech.
Ngamkhosei Sontah, secretary, KCA, Chandel did not make a request to the DC, as alleged, during the program as he had turned down the request by the compere before the program proceeded, the organisations clarified.
With officer like Robert Ksh administering the district, communal atmosphere will increase day by day amongst different communities living in the district, the organisations asserted.
The four organisations have also appealed to the CNPO and NPF not to misunderstand the matter for taking their names.
KCA, KPF, KSO and TSA, Chandel, in the joint statement have also appealed to the State Government to remove Chandel DC, Robert Singh Ksh from the district immediately.
