Imphal, November 24 2019:
MPCC vice president and former MLA T Mangibabu has alleged that whenever BJP is in power in the Central and State Governments, there is always a threat to the integrity of the State and the survival of the indigenous people, a situation which never occurs during the Congress rule.
Speaking to media persons, Mangibabu strongly condemned the allegations made by a spokesperson of BJP claiming that the Congress party was responsible for the unrest and confusion among the people.
He clarified that the Congress party has been standing against any impact to the integrity of the State due to the Framework Agreement, against implementation of CAB or passing it in the Parliament.
The party has been organising rallies, sit in protests and relay hunger strikes.
The party officials have even gone to Delhi to protest, apart from meeting and pressuring the Central leaders as well, he added.
Mangibabu then claimed that during the long rule of the Congress, there were no such issues nor were there any word about threats to the integrity of Manipur.
However, when it comes to BJP, one is instantly reminded of the June 18, 2001, incident.
On the other hand, MP Dr RK Ranjan assured that he would bring up the point of including a clause in the CAB for protecting Manipur.
But merely shouting in the House (Parliament) does not mean the clause will be included at all, Mangibabu contended, alleging that the people have lost all faith in the BJP and its commitment.
