Security put in place for R-Day

Imphal, January 24 2016:
DIG Range 1 IK Muivah and assisted by the SPs of Imphal East and Imphal West will be in charge of the security arrangements for Republic Day celebration while traffic diversion points on the said day have also been announced.
As part of the security measures taken up all zonal officers have been asked to intensify patrolling in their respective areas of responsibility before and after the march past on Republic Day and the public have been urged to walk outside the barricade along the footpath in an orderly manner.
No one shall be allowed to cross the route of the march past from either side of the road.
Mobile phones are also strictly prohibited at the place of function, that is Kangla.
One SI/ASI and six PCs will be detailed near the dais at Kangla from 10 am of January 25 till the Republic Day function on January 26 .
Further one SI/ASI and 5 PCs will also be detailed for the contingents on January 26 at Bengali High School while the Tear Smoke Squad and women police will be kept ready as stand-by on January 25 and 26.All the officers and men will take their respective posts from 2 am of January 25 till the Republic Day functions are over.
Traffic control police personnel will also be deployed along the parade route from Khoyathong to Nityaipat Chuthek.
Traffic diversion points will be at Singjamei bridge and new Thumbuthong bridge for vehicles coming from Singjamei side, Keishampat junction, Kwakeithel bazar, Tera bazar, Chingmeirong Khongnang Ani Karak, North AOC Pandon road and Dingku road, Andro parking.
Parking slots have also been arranged.
Vehicles coming to witness the main functions will be parked at Lairembi Lampak near Keishampat junction, in front of Sessions Court and Krishna Premi oil pump, Moirangkhom.
Jail road from Nityaipat junction to northern gate of 1st MR will be non-parking zone from 4 am till the function is over on January 26 .
Additional SP (T) assisted by DSP (T) and Sector Commander IC Wangoi PS have been instructed to take necessary steps for ensuring the arrangements.
