CCpur, October 23 2015 :
The mortal remains of Rev Dr Rochunga Pudaite arrived today where a huge number of people gathered at Sielmat to receive the mortal remains.
Sielmat is home to numerous facilities he had established and his mortal remains will be put to rest here.
The body arrived from Imphal with an impressive motorcade around 2 pm today after briefly halting at three establishments run by the Partnership Mission Society (PMS) that he had founded.
The cavalcade also stopped at some villages along the way.
A group 120 youths already identified by the funeral committee then shifted the coffin to a massive bamboo carriage and marched on foot for about half a kilometre before taking it to the PMS Bungalow.
The coffin will remain for the night there, and the youth will hold an overnight ' singspiration' as is the tradition for the tribal Christians here.
From 9.30 am tomorrow, the coffin will again be taken to the Sielmat Christian Hr Secondary School for a public funeral programme.
Many prominent figures from the district and beyond; Churches and social organisations; Pastors and Church Eiders besides the common men will pay their last respect there before he is laid to rest by Rev Lalbiektluong, President EFCI at a specially arranged cemented grave inside the PMS Bungalow.
