Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs VK Singh has stated that the meaning of freedom would remain incomplete if one does not have a sense of patriotism.

Speaking at a function held at the INA Hall, VK Singh observed that it was at Moirang where the Tricolour was hoisted for the first time in the entire country.
The present generation need to remember and honour the martyrs and freedom fighters otherwise the meaning of freedom will remain incomplete.
Observation of the Independence Day and the Republic Day is not enough.
All the citizens should harbour a strong sense of patriotism throughout the year otherwise unity and progress can never be achieved, asserted the MoS External Affairs.
The whole country should acknowledge and document the lives and exploits of the freedom fighters of the North East region and their struggle against British colonial rulers.
The primary agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is development.
Manipur is quite rich in many aspects.
If Manipur must be developed, there should be a conducive atmosphere and the people should work together to bring about a dramatic change through election, VK Singh asserted.
The valour of Manipuri women is known throughout the world.
Manipuri women have been working in the forefront in different fields but real development in Manipur can be realised only when BJP is elected to power.
Manipur has now produced a Lieutenant General of the Indian Army and there are very few States which have achieved such a distinction, he added.
Manipur is quite advanced in the field of sports, art and culture etc.
There are abundant resources in Manipur and if the State must march ahead, the focus should be youth.
Talking about transport infrastructure, VK Singh informed that due preparations have been completed for repairing Imphal-Jiribam-Silchar highway.
Imphal-Moreh section of Asian Highway I would also be further improved.
The Government of India has a plan to connect Moreh with Thailand and further South to Laos through terrestrial routes, he added.
