Imphal, December 21 2016:
In a welcome and significant departure from the slew of venom spewing statements issued by different organisations, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has today urged the silent majority to speak out and give a clear mandate for peaceful living.
In a statement issued to the media, president of NPCC, K Therie said "We are pained and hurt by the economic blockade time and again.
It implies, let people die out of hunger and thirst" .
The action is inhuman and unchristian like, said the NPCC and added "economic blockade is strangling not just the economy but is strangling our children to death" .

NPCC also made its stand clear against the counter blockade imposed in the valley area.
"It is inhuman and demonic to attack peaceful travellers for no fault of theirs.
Destroying properties can't be considered as wise action by any sensible person.
We do not agree with actions of both sides," said the NPCC further.
Nagas, Kukis and Meiteis will be neighbours forever, said NPCC and added that all are inter-dependent politically and economically and this will remain a reality.
All Meiteis and Nagas are not bad and it is time for the silent majority to speak up for the good of all, added NPCC.
Appealing to all to stop adopting the policy of confrontation and counter confrontation, NPCC said that it is wrong for the NSF to resort to economic blockade.
Stating that there is nothing to gain from fighting against each other, NPCC said that negotiation is the only way to resolve the problem.
