Imphal, April 21 2013:
All Zeliangrong Students' Union, Zeliangrong Youth Front and Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur have slammed Zeliangrong Union and Kabui Mother's Association (KAMA) for not making any appeal to RPF/PLA regarding safe release of Alice Kamei.
In a joint statement, the three bodies observed that Zeliangrong Union and KAMA have shown their inability to lead the people's movement of demanding safe release of the minor girl as the two bodies have been remaining silent on the issue.
The three Zeliangrong bodies said that the activities of ZU and KAMA are needed to be screened and monitored by the law abiding citizens of the State at this juncture.
The bodies added that the existence of dubious character organisations is the root cause of creating unnecessary social unrest and communal disharmony.
It would have been more appropriate and rational had the ZU and KAMA urged RPF/PLA to release Alice Kamei, said the three bodies.
However, not mincing any word by ZU and KAMA in this regard indicates strong objection to the public protest, it observed.
The bodies further said that ZU and KAMA must be aware of the fact that induction of a minor school girl into a militant group is not the ingredient to keep intact of psychological and territorial integrity.
ZU and KAMA must also understand that the basic and most vital impetus of maintaining psychological and territorial integrity is sentimental understanding, the bodies added.
