ADC employees to stage protest

All Manipur District Council Teachers Association is set to stage sit-in-protests, in all the six ADCs of the State in pursuit of its demands, on October 20 .
The association will also stage a joint sit-in-protest in Imphal on October 22, said a press release.
It may be mentioned that the association has been on pendown strike demanding clearance of 1.14 percent DA arrears and implementation of pension scheme.
The release said, it is unfortunate that the 14 percent DA arrears for a period of January 1, 2001 to June 30, 2005 for ADC employees is still pending even though authority concerned has given the clearance.
It also said that the same arrear has been released with the accumulated interest in the case of other employees of the State Government.
The association further said, although the Governor had ordered to grant arrears of pay for six months for a period starting October 1, 2009 to March 2010 to ADC employees, the said amount is still pending.
Saying that retired ADC employees are facing hardships in managing their families, the association demanded implementation of pension scheme for all the employees of the six ADCs.
