AHDA highlights Hamai woes

Conveying their experiences in the course of a tour programme to Hamai inhabited areas of the State which extended from June 1 to June 17, the All Hamai Development Association has highlighted the woes being endured by the Hamai people.
A press release issued by the association said that they found the road connecting Tabam village to Taniulong village blocked due to landslide in addition to a collapsed culvert rendering vehicular movement along the road almost impossible.
Though most of the Hamai inhabited areas have been connected through IVRs and other constructed by the villagers themselves, Atang Khullen and Atang Khunou villages located in the interior parts of Tamei sub-division have no road connection till date.
Although the road Tamei-Kuilong road is a pucca road according to official records, in reality it is a very
rough road.
The association further noted that the condition of IT Road has turned from bad to worse.
It also conveyed about the flooding of paddy fields located along Barak river banks due to breached river banks.
In the course of the training programme, the AHDA members witnessed inauguration of a community hall and one-day volunteers training programme at Tedlong Nurathen village on June 2 where MLA Awangbou Newmai was the chief guest.
They also attended the Organic Potato Exhibition programme at Aling Khundong village on June 3 .
On June 9, the AHDA volunteers observed another one-day volunteer training programme at Langmai High School, Tamei.
