Youth shot dead

Imphal, March 17 2017:
A youth who ran a pan shop has been found shot dead near Langol Games Village, Imphal West district under Lamphel police station this morning.
A bullet-riddled body was found near Type-II houses of Langol Game Village at around 7.15 am today, informed a police source.
The deceased has been identified as one Ajay Kumar Sahu (25) s/o Suresh Prasad.
He used to stayed in a rented room at Minuthong Telipati, Imphal East and he used to run a pan shop at New Checkon.
It is said that he was a handicap.
Bullet wounds were seen on his head.
Police have picked up and deposited the corpse at RIMS mortuary.
Meanwhile, people of Minuthong Telipati staged a protest demonstration by blocking Minuthong-Khurai road today.
The protesters asked for what fault Ajay was shot dead.
They also demanded the authority concerned to pull up the culprits and award them befitting punishment.
Family members said that Ajay left his rented home at around 6 pm yesterday to buy betel nuts from Khwairamband Keithel.
Suresh Prasad said that they have been staying at Telipati for the past 30 years.
People of the locality have decided not to claim the corpse of Ajay until the culprits are booked and punished.
A memorandum would also be submitted to the Chief Minister to this effect, said the bereaved father.
