Lamka/Ukhrul, November 16, 2013 :
Churachandpur District Students' Union (CDSU) today said it fully supports the ATSUM's stir under ROTO that began midnight of November 11, saying it will continue to endorse the genuine demands until it is fulfilled by the Government.
The stir that banned all national projects undertaken in Manipur including the ongoing railway line construction was intended to pressure the Government to immediately realise the various promises it has made or the demands put forward by ATSUM to the Government.
The CDSU has added that it is ready to back any path taken up by ATSUM during the course of the agitation.
At the same time, the TKS has reiterated its support to Maun Tombing led ATSUM saying the group is a legitimate apex tribal students' union of Manipur, our Ukhrul correspondent reports.
The TKS assured to extend possible support to the ATSUM's second phase of agitation under ROTO that is slated to begin from Nov 17 midnight.
TKS president, Y Kapai speaking to media persons said that the ATSUM (ES) led by Emboiy Serto is a self styled organisation of few vested persons who are out to create confusion to the students' community.
He mentioned that any Tangkhul student associating with their activities will be treated as traitor, and dealt with fitting punitive action.
He further said that the bandh/agitation called by Emboi Serto Group will not be affective in areas under the jurisdiction of TKS.
