Imphal, December 13 2016:
The 7th death anniversary of Professor Sanajaoba Naoriya was observed today at Manipur Press Club by Ojha Sanajaoba Memorial Trust (OSMT) .

Speaking at the event, S Bhubol (secy of OSMT) said that December is an important month for the Trust because the late Prof was born on December 30, 1945 and passed away on December 13, 2009 .
He pointed out that the Trust organises, along with the death anniversary, a memorial lecture cum academic discourse on December 30, the birthday of the late Prof, every year.
S Bhubol also gave a short speech on some of the books, speeches and articles by the late Professor on various issues including law, human rights, politics.
AMUCO president, Ph Deban Sharma said, "Let the economic blockade continue.
As long as the disciples of Ojha Sanajaoba and all the organisations are here, no one can break our Motherland" .
He said that signing an agreement just between the Indian Government and the NSCN(IM) will not bring a solution to the current issue.
"Many drivers and handymen have suffered and some have even lost their lives including Dr Th Kishan, a student of the late teacher, while they drag on with the agreement, ", he said.
He said that it was impossible to reach a peaceful agreement by pleasing both sides, citing the demand for Kuki homeland.
"AMUCO believes in having a collective talk or meeting of the various parties in order to bring a definite and peaceful conclusion, but if they threaten to bring disintegration and disunity, then AMUCO will face them with full force," Deban added.
Speaking as the chief guest, former Minister RV Mingthing said that it would be an understatement to say that Ojha Sanajaoba was a treasure for the people of the State.
He stressed that it is critical for the four major communities in Manipur, the Meitei, Meitei Pangal, Naga and Kuki to come together as one.
There have been many instances of communal tensions ever since the time of the British rule and it is high time for the communities to unite, he added.
