Training on PBS of common NCDs for ANMs held

Three days training on population-based screening (PBS) of common Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) for ANMs kicked off successfully today at Conference Hall, District Hospital, Kangpokpi.
The training programme was organized by District NCD Cell, District Health Society (DHS) Kangpokpi under NPCDCS programme, NHM Manipur.
ANMs of Health and Wellness Centre, which is upgraded form of Primary Health Sub-Centre (PHSC), under Kangpokpi District, namely ANMs of HWC Hengbung, Molkon, Utonglok, Thangal Sarung, Makhan, Leimakhong and Kangchup Chiru participated in the inaugural training programme.
The training programme, which will be organized from March 13 to March 15, was formally inaugurated by Dr Kimneng Misao, CMO/DMD Kangpokpi District while the training on PBS were detailed by the resource persons.
Chief Medical Officer/DMD Kangpokpi, Dr Kimneng Misao said that PBS on common NCDs involves population enumeration and screening of men and women over 30yrs of age for timely identification and treatment of common NCDs like Diabetes, Hypertension, Breast Cancer, Cervix Cancer and Oral Cavity.
She also said that the training was conducted to implement the said programme while separate similar training will be organized for the ASHAs and other health staff soon.
Dr Paotinlal Haokip, District Nodal Officer (DNO) NCD, DHS Kangpokpi District; Dr John Lupheng, DNO, NTCP (National Tobacco Control Program), DHS Kangpokpi District and Holminlun Khongsai, District NCD Epidemiologist, DHS Kangpokpi District attended the training programme as resource persons.
