Lamka, September 12 2013:
Even as Churachandpur Joint Women Organisation led a sit-in-protest against the action of surrendered KCP (NK) cadres on Tuesday at the district hospital campus and demanded the complete removal of all surrendered valley based rebels from the district, the Zomi Council and Kuki Students' Organisation have also issued a separate statement conveying the same message.
The joint women organisation began the sit-in early in the day with banners and placards proclaiming their condemnation over the conduct of the surrendered cadres, the inaction of their custodian and the demand for removal of all surrendered valley based cadres from the soil of the district.
The sit-in that lasted through the day was joined by several other organizations that also support their cause and calls.
Meanwhile, condemning the assault and intimidation on police personnel and creating public nuisance by the undisciplined and disgruntled cadres of KCP (KN) faction, the Kuki Students' Organisation said it is hard to reckon the reason why the frustrated and self-syled KCP Chairman tries to break in at the hospital while the Health Minister was inspecting the health facilities there.
The KSO statement demanded to know if they have any appointment with the Doctors or medical staffs or the visiting Minister.
Demanding a response from the outfit, the KSO said it may be presumed that the sole intention of the KCP was to create fear psychosis in the minds of the public and undermining the peace adherent people in the tribal hill district of Lamka, if the outfit fails to clarify.
The KSO also dubbed the surrender ceremony to welcome the group into the mainstream as a 'mockery' and 'stage-managed' as they hampered the social harmony just within a fortnight of the much applauded surrender ceremony.
'Are this frustrated group welcomed in the expense of causing public nuisance?,' it asked while urging the Home Minister to come out with a clear indication on the motive behind welcoming such disgruntled group who cannot abide by what they agreed for.
Deploring the silence of 46 AR, the KSO asked why not the 46 AR should be held responsible for the predetermined notion in causing ruckus by the KCP cadres, who were used as a scapegoat by the Assam Rifles to vent their anger on the peaceful public.
The KSO also proclaimed that it will strike the cord together with like-minded CSO leaders and the public so that any valley based surrendered cadres will have no place in the tribal hill district, particularly in Lamka.
The Zomi Council has meanwhile issued similar statement and petitioned the Deputy Chief Minister who is also incharge of Home to immediately shift all surrendered valley based UGs from Churachandpur district.
The council in their petition to the Dy Chief Minister alleged that the behaviour of surrendered UG cadres at the district hospital on Tuesday defied health care service norms, challenge law enforcing agency of the State and insulted the people of Churachandpur district.
'The fact that the perpetrators are in combat dress and were with 46 Assam Rifles, Hqtrs Veng, Churachandpur since July 2013 also vindicates the stated fear that they would disturb the peaceful atmosphere under the shadow of the Assam Rifles.
We have every reason to suspect the nexus between Assam Rifles and surrendered UGs either in combat operations or in collection of money as such case has already been reported in other parts of the state,' the ZC statement said.
Booking the culprits behind the ruckus at the hospital, when the health minister and his team were still inside; seizure of the Bolero (Black) MN04-6963 used by the perpetrators, and initiating appropriate action against the 46 AR for their failure to prevent such unwanted incidents were other demands the council has made before the Deputy Chief Minister.
