In the wake of recent increase in the incidents leading to hardships being faced by the people of the North Eastern India in general and Manipur in particular, the government decided to prepare a comprehensive directory of all people belonging to the State of Manipur including students, who are residing in the National Capital Region Delhi.
In the connection, the Resident Commissioner of Manipur Bhawan, New Delhi issued a public notification requesting all concerned to furnish their particulars to the Office of the Resident Commissioner, Manipur Bhawan, 2, Sardar Patel Marg, New Delhi-110021 by post or e-mail to manipurbhawan@hotmail,com giving details of Name, Gender, Age, Father's/Mother's/Husband's name, Contact number, Educational/professional qualifications, Address in Delhi, E-mail ID, Occupation, Address in Manipur and any telephone number of the contact person in Manipur.
Details of name, contact number and occupation of other members of family or local guardian with whom staying, should also be furnished.
The Resident Commissioner, Manipur Bhawan, New Delhi also sought the cooperation of all concerned in its endeavour to provide requisite assistance in the hour of need.

With a view to review the action taken by the concerned authorities with reference to incidents of physical violence in Delhi against students and youths hailing from the NE Region of the country, the Ministry of DoNER set up a Cell headed by PK Pattanaik, Jt Secy, DoNER on Nov 11 this year.
Other members of the Cell were Dr.Avinash Kumar Mishra, Principal Resident Commissioner, Arunachal Bhawan, New Delhi, Devender Kumar, Resident Commissioner of Assam, Shambhu Singh, Resident Commissioner of Manipur, etc.
