Relay hunger strike

Imphal, August 09 2016:
The relay hunger strike staged
in support of JCILPS' cause by
JAC Singjamei at Singjamei
Thongkhong has completed
seven days today.
Ksh Bilat Devi (60),
Soram Ashalata (42) and
Chanam Luxmi of Kshetri
Leikai staged the protest to-
day.
Volunteers of
Leishangthem Lairembi Wel-
fare Association, Singjamei
Mayengbam Leikai Meira
Paibi Lup, Yaipha Nupi Lup,
Thongam Leikai, Singjamei
Apunba Nupi Lup and Sapam
Leikai Meira Paibi Lup also
took part in the protest.
They were demanding im-
plementation of ILPS and
revocation of wanted tag an-
nounced on Khomdram
Ratan.
Likewise another relay
hunger strike launched on the
same demand continued to-
day too.
Today's leg of the relay
hunger strike being staged at
Keishampat Leimajam Leikai
community hall was partici-
pated by 29 volunteers of the
Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima
Lup (AMKIL).
Talking to media persons,
AMKIL president Ph Sakhi
Leima urged the Government
to enact a legislation which
can effectively protect indig-
enous people of the State
from the onslaught of inces-
sant influx.
The Government should
ensure that the new draft Bill
is acceptable to all sections
of the society.
She also demanded imme-
diate revocation of the
Government order which de-
clared Kh Ratan as a wanted
man.
