With lockdown 3.0 in progress, many more reach out to public with relief materials

Imphal, May 07 2020:
Founder of Romeo Bal Vidya Mandir, Heirok Part I, along with family members and school management development committee distributed essential items to the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school.
The distribution was done in the school campus maintaining social distance and other prescribed precautionary measures.
Many more came out to help people affected by the lockdown today.
Vegetables donated to RIMS
A team led by Thaikho Peter, ADC member, Senapati district donated a large quantity of vegetables to RIMS hospital, Imphal, stated a press release issued by N Phillip Singh, media advisor RIMS.
The items were handed over to RIMS director Prof A Santa Singh who thanked the team for the vegetables and said that it will help meet the staffs' household needs during this period of lockdown.
The vegetables were procured from Liyai Khullen village by the residents and brought as a gift to thank the frontline medical staffs and workers of RIMS, Thaikho Peter said.
Relief items exchanged
In a solidarity move, the International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) provided relief items to residents of Khangkhui Phungthar village of Ukhrul District and were in return presented with varieties of fresh greens and vegetables collected from the village.
The items were exchanged in the office of IPSA in Keishampat, where IPSA president Joychandra Konthoujam thanked the people of Khangkhui Phungthar village for the goods.
Essential items of rice, dal, salt and edible oil were provided to the village people.
Ex-president of ICHAM N Rajendro was also part of the event.
UCM distributes vegetables and other items
The United Committee Manipur (UCM) COVID-19 Special Task Force distributed 3 kgs of rice provided Imphal West DC to around 451 daily wagers living in rents in Grace Colony, Tarung village on May 6, a press release issued by UCM said.
Furthermore today, the team distributed essential items of rice, potato, onion, edible oil and salt to the inmates of Asha Bhavan Drug Rehabilitation Centre, Langol Tarung.
UCM also extends gratitude to New Economic Evaluation of the World, North East India who provided the UCM members/team with potato, onion, cooking oil and salt to motivate them.
Differently abled persons
Essential items of rice, potato, dal, onion, sugar, ngari, salt and edible oil were provided to the differently abled persons living in Phungreitang area of Ukhrul district by the Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, Manipur.
Members of Tangkhul Naga Long, Ukhrul and Spring of Hope Orphan Home provided physical and moral support to the Relief Centre Special Task Force in distributing the items.
Media advisor of the relief centre Nimol Ningombam, AMUCO president Ph Nando Luwang, Women Commission member Chuongsin Koireng, Child Welfare officer L Dhaneshor Singh, PWD Commissioner staff L Aramendra Sharma,Tangkhul Naga Long president Hoping and its staff along with Relief Centre Special Task Force members were part of the distribution programme.
Face Masks distributed
To help protect against the spread of coronavirus, Councillor of Kakching Khunou Municipal Council Ward No 8 Khumukcham Gojendro distributed around 500 face masks to people of Kakching Khunou Hijam Sana Khongnang Leikai, Hijam Maning Leikai, Chekshapat Leikai and Kakching Khunou Bazaar.
The distribution was done with the help of Ward (No 8) Development Committee members Kh Rameshwor and M Sunil along with KSWC Kakching Khunou Hijam Leikai and YFUC Chekshapat.
Dr RK Kumarjit extends monetary aid
State disability commissioner Dr RK Kumarjit has provided monetary aid to select differently-abled persons from Lamsang, Sekmai and Konthoujam Assembly Constituencies, who are from financially unstable families.
The relief money was aided with the help of different staff of Social Welfare Department and Relief Centre For The Welfare Of Differently Able Person's Manipur.
Biswajit lauds locals of Liyai Khullen
Works Minister, Th Biswajit has lauded locals of Liyai Khullen for donating vegetables for valley dwellers at the time of crisis.
AMUCO thanks
AMUCO has extended its gratitude to New Economic Evaluation of the World (NEEW) who visited the office of the organisation and handed over 5 bags of potato, 4 bags of onion, 4 bags of salt and 4 cartons of cooking oil.
The relief items will be further distributed to those in need, AMUCO said.
