Imphal, March 07 2018:
The Thadou Students Association, General Headquarters (TSA-GHQ) has expressed serious concern regarding a complaint letter to the DGP over the issuance of threats against TSA and Thadou Inpi by an armed militant group, the Kuki people Liberation Front/Kuki People Liberation Army (KPLF/KPLA) and TIK-M, getting leaked in social media sites.
A press release issued by secretary information and publicity of the association, stated that TSA lodged the complaint with full trust and confidence in the State police as a law enforcement agency, for immediate and necessary action against the KPLF/KPLA and TIK-M and to prevent any untoward incident and to protect the lives of the citizens.
It claimed that some police officer (s) at Moreh police station leaked the complaint letter, which was supposed to be confidential, in social media sites.
The association expressed concern over the motive behind the incident and claimed that the some police personnel are involved in issuing diktats, threatening leaders of Thadou civil society organisations (Thadou Inpi and TSA) to resign from their respective posts.
The association also demanded the State Government for an immediate and thorough investigation into the matter and to terminate all police personnel responsible for the misconduct in leakage of the complaint letter at the earliest.
