No of voters in State down by 8884

As per the latest electoral roll released by the Chief Electoral Officer yesterday, the State's total number of voters has come down by 8884 voters as com-pared to the previous year.
The latest electoral roll which took January 1, 2014 as the qualifying date was pu-blished by CEO O Nabaki- shore in his office yesterday afternoon.
Mistakes detected in the electoral roll may be removed or corrected by submitting on-line application at the CEO's website.
Similar applications may also be submitted to EROs.
As per the latest electoral roll, the total number of electors is 17,39,005 including 8,86,087 females and 8,52,918 males, said the CEO.
The total number of electors till last year was 17,47,889 which means the total number of electors has come down by 8884 this year.
More electors were enlist-ed this year.
Still the total number of electors came down on account of removing 38,277 duplicate voters from the electoral roll, Nobo-kishore said.
Male-female elector ratio is 1000:1069 .
Meanwhile, elector-population ratio has come down by 60 per cent and it is within the figure given by the Election Commission of India.
Until nomination papers are filed for the forthcoming Lok Sabha election, eligible persons may be enlisted in the electoral roll .
Informing that adequate number of EVMs has been procured for the next Parliamentary election, the CEO said that first level checking of the EVMs has been done by engineers.
The total number of polling stations for Manipur has reached 2662 which means increase of 13 polling stations.
Electors would be given voter identity cards in the form of smart cards starting from January 23, Nabakishore said.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India has sought from the CEO office details of examinations, festivals and holidays which fall or are scheduled before the Lok Sabha election.
