UKRA celebrates raising day at Salem camp

In celebrating its 8th raising day, commander in chief of United Komrem Revolutionary Army (UKRA) KT Kom observed that people of Manipur suffering from the impact of the ongoing economic blockade is due to failure of the State Government to find an amicable solution to important issues.
Addressing the raising day anniversary at Camp Salem on October 19, KT Kom suggested that the Government of Manipur do not delay in resolving outstanding issues for such an attitude will only aggravate suffering of the masses.
A statement issued by senior Information and Publicity Secretary of UKRA/KNO Stephen Bill Bard Kom quoted the C-in-C as saying that UKRA is committed to not only safeguarding interest of the minority Komrem people but to promote healthy relationship of all the indigenous people settled in Manipur.
He also expressed elation that inspite of hailing from the minority community international woman pugilist MC Mary Kom has brought laurel to the country and Manipur by winning the world boxing title five times.

Mary Kom's achievements will be enshrined in the history of Manipur is letters of gold, said KT Kom while conveying profound gratitude to the common people, village leaders and social workers for continuous moral and physical support to the cause undertaken by the UKRA.
On the otherhand, village representatives and social workers who graced the occasion reposed faith on the UKRA to ensure that peace and cordiality prevail throughout the State, especially at areas where the Komrem people reside.
