Nemcha Kipgen inspects rice distribution at Kalapahar

Kangpokpi, June 06 2020:
Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen inspected Kalapahar distribution centre this afternoon to ensure everyone gets 5 kg of rice.
The local nominee MDC Milan Pradhan accompanied the Minister and ensured that he will not let any discrepancies occurred in the distribution of rice at Kalapahar.
At the visit, Nemcha Kipgen said that as everyone is struggling during this COVID-19 crisis, it is important that everyone gets their share of benefits without any discrepancies.
Reiterating that the FPS agent also needs to work for humanity at this trying time, the Minister cautioned that proper actions will be initiated if any FPS agents are found misusing the allocated rice.
Kalapahar women were also seen manning the entry gate and no one was allowed to enter the village without wearing a mask.
Meanwhile, the Minister also visited the COVID Emergency Food Kiosk at Kangpokpi DHQs and had a brief interaction with the KWWO and KYU leaders while taking stock of the situation.
She exhorted the volunteers involving in the voluntary service to keep up the good work despite various challenges and hardships in the larger interest of the returnees while assuring that she will always try to instantly address their grievances.
The Minister also provided pork meat to the volunteers of COVID Emergency Food Kiosk and volunteers of KCC who embarked on voluntary catering and delivery of food in all the IQCs within Kangpokpi DHQs and its surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, the Minister also assured to provide more barrels of diesel to the SP Kangpokpi for use at the screening centre in dropping and picking the returnees.
Around 126 stranded people of Kangpokpi arrived since yesterday at the District Screening Centre from various parts of the country and Nepal.
