GOC inaugurates community hall, gifts water storage

In continuation of the pursuit to improve amenities and surge all round development in rural Manipur, the GOC of Red Shield Division, Maj Gen Binoy Poonnen has inaugurated and handed over one Community Hall constructed by 657 EME Bn under the aegis of Red Shield Division for Rs 5.00 Lacs at NC Phai village and provided water storage equipment to Khunkho Kuki village of Senapati District at the cost of Rs 1.00 Lac under 'OP SADBHAVANA' .
Accoroding to a statement issued by the PIB (DW), the village Chairmen of both the villages on behalf of all villagers expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army for the magnanimous assistance to their villages.
They assured that this gesture of the Army would go a long way in helping in infrastructural development in the villages.
While addressing the villagers, the General urged them to derive maximum benefit from these facilities.
He assured the villagers that the Red Shield Division will always be committed for the people of Manipur for their safely, security and development in every sphere of life, it added.
The Red Shield Division has endeared itself to the masses through various Military Civic Action (MCA) activities that have acted as a major facilitation in establishing long lasting cordial relations between the local populace and the Armed Forces.
Under the able guidance of Major General Binoy Poonnen, Vishisht Seva Medal, the formation has spearheaded many development projects involving concerted multiprong action using all available mediums to bring normalcy in the State.
The General's incessant concern for welfare and upliftment of the society in its AOR has translated into a number of civic action projects undertaken by the Red Shield Division.
With the genuine interest of the Red Shield Division in the welfare of the local populace of diverse ethnic origin, these welfare activities have contributed to the overall development of the area, it stated.
