MLA K Ranjit speaks out mind

Sugnu Assembly Constituency MLA K Ranjit has categorically asserted that the State Government's failure to control the escalating public disturbance in the initial stage has landed Manipur in the current scenario.
The MLA was speaking at a public meeting held at SDPO Office in Sugnu today which was attended by leaders of Meitei, Kuki and Naga communities from Churachandpur, Bishnupur, Chandel and Kakching districts.
The meeting was conducted with the goal of making an appeal to the people of the area to refrain from participating in violent communal activities.
Addressing the gathering at the public meeting, MLA K Ranjit attributed the spate of violence in the State to negligence on the part of the Manipur Government.
He opined that if the State Government had deployed security forces at Churachandpur in the beginning during the fiasco surrounding the inauguration of an open gym, then the situation could have been brought under control.
He urged Chief Minister N Biren Singh to work towards bringing about a swift resolution of the volatile situation instead of simply chanting slogans highlighting improved law and order situation in the hill regions during public gatherings.
Notably, a committee consisting of members of all different communities was formed during today's public meeting.
MLA K Ranjit was appointed as the president of the committee and Thangkholen Haokip, former MLA Chandel was appointed as the vice-president among others.
