A girl student sustained injuries when SDJM Higher Secondary School located at Keishampat Kangabam Leikai was attacked by a man who resides just East of the school.
Speaking to media persons about the sudden attack, teachers of the school said that Kongkham Jadumani played loud music from a car audio system using external loudspeakers since the beginning of the first period today.
As the loud music was disturbing class, one student requested him to turn down the volume but Jadumani responded by banging on the window pane.
This not only frightened the students but also shattered the glass panes causing injuries to Poireinganbi, reading in class X .
After that, Jadumani and his son pelted stones toward the school.
At this, teachers and students went out and invited Jadumani to come forward and talk things over amicably.
But Jadumani came out with a broadsword in his hand and shouted back, "What do you want?" .
The teachers maintained that Jadumani has been playing loud music during school hours not only today but throughout the year.
Saying that Jadumani once worked in Education (U) Department, the teachers decried the act of deliberately causing disturbance to normal class.
Jadumani might be thinking that the neighbourhood has become noisy because of the school, but he should have raised his objection when the school building was first constructed and before the school was shifted there from Paona Bazar two years back.
Taking note of his earlier complaint, the school has now only recess instead of two.
Moreover, four class rooms are being kept vacant, the teachers said.
Principal of the school Ch Biren said that necessary action must initiated against the miscreant.
