Abducted Manager found dead

Imphal, January 03 2013:
Manager of Max Enterprises Shankarlal Swamy, who was reported to have been abducted by unidentified some unidentified persons while taking a morning stroll inside Kangla Fort on January 2, was found dead in a fish pond of Keijengbam Loukon at Wahengkhuman under Wangoi Police Station today.
Meanwhile, police have arrested three persons including two IRB personnel who are allegedly involved in the crime.
The deceased Shankarlal Swamy (59) son of late Jeevanlal hailed from Jaipur, Rajasthan.
He had been living in Thangal Keithel for the last many years as a trader and manager of Max Enterprises.
The two IRB personnel who have been arrested by the police in connection with the crime are identified as Yumnam Dinesh (Rfn No 11200 5777) of Wahengkhuman and Laishram Herojit (Rfn No 1120012 37) of Lamsang Laingou village.
Both of them are personnel of 1st IRB.
The third person who has also been arrested is identified as Hanjabam Deepu alias Purnananda son of late Kumar of Bramhapur Thangapat Mapal.

He is said to be driver by profession.
Police have also also recovered a Maruti Gypsy and a Carbine issued to Dinesh, which were used in abducting Shankarlal.
The incident of abduction came to light when family members filed a complaint with the City Police about missing of Shankarlal.
According to family members, Shankarlal used to go for jogging inside Kangla Fort daily at around 5 am.
However, he did not return home after leaving for his routine jogging in the morning of January 2 .
Acting on the complaint, police took statements of the sentries posted at Kangla gate and rounded up Dinesh who was on duty on the day of the abduction.
During interrogation, Dinesh revealed the involvement of another personnel named Herojit and Deepu.
Further interrogation led to the revelation that the trio abducted Shankarlal as they know that he was wealthy man.
The trio abducted Shankarlal at gun point from inside Kangla Fort and took him in an autorickshaw to Keishampat from where they shifted him in a Maruti Gypsy and headed to Wahengkhuman.
They then handed the captive to one Govind of KCP (MTF).
Upon their revelation, police rushed to Wahengkhuman and found the body of Shangkarlal under the water in a fish pond.
No injury marks were found on the body and police assumes that Shankarlal might be killed by suffocating him inside the water.
The body has been deposited picked and deposited at the mortuary of RIMS for post mortem.
Family members and relatives of the victim from Rajasthan are expected to arrive here tomorrow afternoon.
Meanwhile, SP Imphal West, Jayanta, in a notification, has informed that a charge-sheet would be submitted to the court soon since most of the persons involved in the crime are in police custody now.
