Mizoram and Cachar Frontier BSF celebrates 56th Rising Day

On the occasion of the 56th Rising Day of Border Security Force (BSF), Barakhana was organized at Ftr HQ Mizoram and Cachar (M and C), in which Ftr IG attended along with other officers, SOs and ORs of Ftr HQ M&CSHQ BSF Silchar and 134 Bn BSF.
The IG in his address exhorted the troops to continue the good work, boosted the morale and motivated them to perform their duty with enthusiasm and zeal as stated by PRO, BSF.
The Border Security Force has been able to win the hearts and minds of the border population.
The Force is aiding the civil police and other sister agencies to make the Cachar Valley drug smuggling free.
On the occasion of 56th Raising Day of the Elite Force, its troops vowed to safeguard the territorial integrity of the country with its motto of "Jeewan Paryant Kartavya".
Mizoram & Cachar Frontier with its HQs at Masimpur, Silchar, is a unique Frontier of the Border Security Force (BSF).
It guards borders of South Assam in Barak valley and whole of Mizoram with Bangladesh over an area of 469 kms in length.
Apart from this, the Frontier has also deployed its units in Manipur and Nagaland on counter- insurgency roles.
The units of the Frontier are also guarding important vital institutions like the Capital Complex and High Court premises of Manipur.
According to Sunil Kumar, IPS, IG of the Frontier, BSF has very effectively sealed the borders.
Cattle smuggling has almost become zero.
The Frontier has also contributed immensely in reducing drug smuggling in the Barak Valley said the PRO, BSF.
The Force is not only aiming for zero smuggling activities on the borders; but also carried out a number of civic action activities like medical camps, drug abuse awareness camps, pre-recruitment training to youth of border villages, cleanliness drives, village adaptation, patient evacuations, evacuation of villagers during floods in Cachar and Mizoram border areas etc.
During COVID-19, BSF commanders extended helping hands to the needy and poor border population through various civic actions like distribution of ration, medicines, face masks, sanitizers, potable water etc.
The BSF troops also educated the border population through awareness programmes regarding how to fight the coronavirus and to keep physically fit by imbibing fitness programmes such as Yoga etc.
