Support, encourage good work done: MLA Shyam

Langthabal MLA Karam Shyam has said that it would not be the right step to link felicitation of meritorious students with politics but local organisations should support such felicitation events.
Shyam stated this during felicitation of class X and XII students who cleared examinations conducted by BSEM, COHSEM and CBSE with high marks at Karam village wherein Karam Achoubi Devi Memorial Award was presented on Sunday.
Addressing students at Karam Laibung, the Langthabal MLA said that local clubs and Meira Paibi should support and encourage any good work done for development of the locality or the society.
The role taken by local clubs and Meira Paibi for development of the locality and the society should never be forgotten, he said, adding that a society will be complete and strong when there is competition in good works.

According to Karam Shyam, emerging youth need to learn from successful people to achieve their life goal and it is the responsibility of the present generation to guide, encourage and take young generation to the right path.
The felicitation event was also attended by Social Development Organisation Karam functionary Paonam Tomba Singh, Manipur Legislative Assembly secretariat secretary Karam Meghajit, CSIR NEIST senior principal scientist Dr Huidrom Birkumar, PHC Leimapokpam MO Dr Paonam Umakanta and local elders.
Altogether 10 students of the village who secured 80 percent and above marks in class X and XII examinations were presented Karam Achoubi Devi Memorial Award while 18 students who cleared the examinations in first division were encouraged with cash and gifts.
Meanwhile, Social Development Association, Awang Potsangbam presented its 15th meritorious award to students during an awards presentation ceremony held at Koubru Mayai Shanglen on Sunday.
The awards ceremony was attended by Shija Academy of Health Sciences director Maisnam Amuba as chief guest, Social Development Association president Ningthoukhongjam Manglem as president and Awang Potsangbam high school head mistress Yumnam Batikika as special guest.
Students who passed class X and XII examinations conducted by BSEM, COHSEM and CBSE with high marks were encouraged by presenting the meritorious award.
