JAC calls off bandh after Govt's asurance

The JAC formed against the killing of Khullakpam Washima has called off its bandh, after it came to an agreement with the State Government.
Speaking to media persons at Forest Minister Th Shyamkumar's quarters today, convenor of the JAC stated that the Minister had assured to fulfil the demands of the JAC.
Following this assurance, the JAC has decided to call off the bandh, which was launched after a 19 year old girl of Yairipok Tulihal Mayai Leikai was suspiciously found dead on January 28 morning.
He continued that the Minister further assured to book the persons involved in incident at the earliest and speed up the case to deliver justice to the death of Washima.
Shyamkumar also promised to sit down with the Chief Minister to go through the demands of the JAC within February 5, the convenor said while lauding the public and organisations/associations for their support.
On the other hand, Minister Shyamkumar assured that necessary measures will be taken up to make sure that justice is delivered.
