MPCC helps family taking shelter in river bank

Imphal, April 27 2020:
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has provided relief material to a poverty-stricken family, taking shelter in a makeshift house in the bank of Imphal River at Chongtham Kona under Wangoi Assembly Constituency, today.
The items were handed over by a team of MPCC led by its president Sagolsem Achouba and Punam Rani Wangkhem under the overall supervision of party president M Okendra by visiting the family.

The distributed items include 500 litres water tank, two buckets, plastic mug, 2 pairs of shoes for the father, bedsheet, two pillows and two plates.
It may be mentioned that the plight of the family came public after a picture of their living condition went viral on social media.
Tayenjam Sarat and his 8-year-old daughter have been living in a makeshift house with pieces of clothes as walls on bank of Imphal river at Chongtham Kona, Wangoi.
