29 cases, one death reported in 48 hrs

Imphal, August 25 2022:
The State reported 29 new COVID-19 positive cases and one fatality during the last 48 hours.
The single fatality which was reported from Imphal East had co-morbidities and was not vaccinated.
With the addition of this, the death toll in the State has reached 2146 .
The 29 positive cases were reported from Imphal East (4), Imphal West (3), Bishnupur (1), Thoubal (1), Senapati (2), Churachandpur (13), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (1), Chandel (2) and Kangpokpi (1) .
As 29 cases were found positive while testing 1014 samples at various testing centres, the positivity rate was reported at 2.8 per cent during the last 48 hours.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the State has reached 1,39,654 including 1,34,634 from the general population and 5012 CAPF personnel.
As many as 25 individuals were discharged during the last 48 hours leaving 90 active cases in the State as of today.
With these recoveries, the recovery rate is now 98.40 per cent.
5871 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered on August 23 and 24 at various vaccination centres across the State.
With these additions, the State has administered 31,64,575 doses of covid vaccines including 16,26,786 first doses, 13,00,204 second doses and 2,37,585 precautionary doses.
The State has vaccinated 62.30 per cent of its eligible population with first dose of covid vaccines while 54.34 percent of the eligible population have received second doses.
As of today, there are 30 vacant beds at at JNIMS and 55 at RIMS.
