Governor, CM lead in extending R-Day greetings

As India celebrates the 74th Republic Day, Governor La Ganesan and Chief Minister N Biren Singh among others greeted the people and wished all citizens to uphold and promote the secular, socialist and democratic values enshrined in the Constitution.
"It was on this day in 1950, that we gave ourselves a Constitution which is the guiding principle of our country.
Despite reservations from various quarters, the experiment of democracy in India has been successful and we are going from strength to strength, respected by other Nations.
On this occasion we should revere and offer our homage to those founding fathers for their foresight and understanding.
From a fledgling democracy, we have now become mature," said Governor La Ganesan.
India is poised to become one of the leading Nations of the world.
Its progress in science and technology backed by a young and dynamic population will push the country to greater heights.
For this, the potential of the youths should be harnessed in the right direction so that they become assets for the future, said the Governor.
"Let us all strive to work together to make our country strong, peaceful and prosperous, free from wants.
On this auspicious occasion, let us re-dedicate ourselves to uphold and promote the secular, socialist and democratic values enshrined in our Constitution and work collectively to make our country great," La Ganesan wished.
Following the Governor, Chief Minister N Biren Singh too wished the people and paid homage to the visionary leaders who gifted the Constitution, which came into full force on January 26, 1950 .
"I join the people of our State in celebrating the 74th Republic Day of our great Nation.
I also extend my heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur on this joyous occasion," read the Chief Minister's message.
He also wished all to reaffirm commitment and strive to make India a greater and stronger Nation.
"Today, our country is moving forward under the people-centric governance of our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and becoming a key leader in the world.
India is now steadily embarking on the path to becoming a great power where her voice is heard and respected and seen as an equal partner.
"As we celebrate the 74th Republic Day, let us pledge to protect our Nation from evil in all forms.
On this auspicious occasion, let us also rededicate ourselves to work in unison to make Manipur a land of peace and prosperity," wished N Biren Singh.
MAHUD Minister Yumnam Khemchand, Education Minister Th Basanta Kumar Singh, Textiles Minister Nemcha Kipgen, Water Resources Minister Awangbow Newmai, Health Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh and others also wished the people on the occasion.
