Imphal, April 17 2012:
With the stated objective of finding out the root causes plaguing growth of small scale industries in the State, a five-day workshop on 'Small Enterprises Development in Manipur" Prospects and Problems' would be organised by Manipur Chamber of Foreign Trade and Industries (MACFI) from April 19 till 22 at Hotel Imphal, said MACFI's advisor (industries) P Loken.
Speaking to newspersons at Classic Hotel today, P Loken said as finding out the root causes affecting small and medium scale industries in Manipur is inevitable for speedy development of the State, the workshop is being organised to deliberate and chalk out an effective mechanism to promote industries.
Observing that inspite of substantial potential for growth of industries in Manipur a large number of educated youths continue to remain job-less, the advisor also suggested that entrepreneurs should undertake new ventures rather than imitate industrial units already established in the State.
The advisor of Manipur Chamber of Foreign Trade and Industries also noted with regret that despite encouraging number of individuals wanting to set up small and medium scale industrial units erratic power supply and transport bottlenecks continue to throttle the aspiration.
The forthcoming workshop will be organised by Manipur Chamber of Foreign Trade and Industries under the joint aegis of Manipur Commerce and Industries, National Small Industries Cooperation and Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, MACFI's advisor (industries) P Loken added.
