Imphal, September 16 2020:
CAF & PD Minister Karam Shyam has stated that Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) will field candidates in the by-elections to certain Assembly segments of the State.
Speaking to media person during a felicitation ceremony of two Councillors (Samurou Municipal Council and Lilong Municipal Council) who joined LJP at Lilong Chajing Mairengkhong Community Hall, K Shyam continued that the party will continue to consult with the coalition partners to avoid misunderstanding within the Government, despite fielding its candidates.
He also stated that a stable Government is required to take the State forward.
It may be mentioned that altogether seats of 13 Assembly Segments are lying vacant, today, following the resignation and disqualifying of certain MLAs and the ECI has announced the schedule of the by-election.
Lack of understanding between the coalition partners in the State Government cannot be ruled out and it is very unfortunate for the people of Manipur, K Shyam said and added that the political turmoil that was seen in the State was a result of some politicians lacking ethics of political alliance and speaking whatever they fancy.
Though LJP is a small political party, the party is only getting stronger due to its discipline, he added.
