Imphal, April 06 2012:
Police have today dispersed protesters who staged a sit-in protest at Keishampat Junction against the gang-rape of a woman.
The protest was held under the aegis of the JAC against the inhuman gang-rape of a housewife which was participated by members of various civil society organisations.
Demanding the termination of the two IRB personnel involved in the gang-rape of the woman and hanging of all the four rapists, the JAC had announced that it would launch various forms of agitation from today.

The sit-in protest was part of the series of agitation lined up by the JAC to press for their demands.
Personnel of Imphal West police, including women personnel came at around 1pm and told the protesters to wind up saying that the time was over and police's VIPs would be coming towards the direction.
Meanwhile, strongly condemning the police action, President of Kabui Mothers' Association, Kakomlunglu Kamei said the protest would be continued till the demands are met.
