Superintendent of Police, Imphal East completes course in flying colours

Superin-tendent of Police, Imphal East district, H Thang-haulien Gangte has com- pleted an 8-week long Mid career Training Programme conducted by the Charles Sturt University, Australia with flying colours.
HT Gangte has also won a scholarship award from Indian School of Business, Hyderabad to pursue course in leadership and management.
The Mid Career Training Programme (MCTP Phase-III) for IPS officers was conducted from February 6 to March 30 at National Police Academy, Hyderabad and Australia.
SP of Imphal East, HT Gangte was among the best three performers selected by the University on conclusion of the course on the basis of various assessments, the other two IPS officers being Ms Aswati Dorjee and Sonal Agnihotri.
The compulsory programme, attended by around 100 IPS officers was conducted by the Charles Sturt University in collaboration with Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.

The training was designed to equip middle-level police managers for the next level of competency.
The main topics covered during the training included strategic management, change and restructuring, leadership community policing, intelligence, future of policing, forensic science and biometrics, communication skills and media management, police welfare, cyber crime, emergency management, criminal justice system and traffic management.
The training programme also included presentations, syndicate study/exercise, exposure to world's best practices, seminar, field visits and on-campus learning at Australia's renowned police training institute, New South Wales Police Academy and Victoria Police Academy.
During the training, the Imphal East SP had made various presentations on welfare and critical incident managements and submitted a strategic issue paper on the need for specialisation and professionalism in Manipur Police.
