Imphal, May 03 2014 :
Health and Family Welfare Minister Phungzathang Tonsing today inspected the ongoing construction work of a 50-bedded district hospital at Senapati district headquarters.
The hospital is being constructed by Manipur Development Society (MDS) with funds provided by DoNER Ministry from NLCPR.
Though the hospital was inaugurated by the then Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on November 2, 2011, it has not been formally handed over to Health Department.
Construction work is complete by almost 95 per cent.
What are left now are the delivery room, lighting system of operation theatre and laying of tiles in the toilet rooms.
The Minister instructed MDS engineers to speed up the construction so that the hospital can be commissioned as early as possible.
