Imphal, December 02, 2014:
The All Political Parties Committee on Inner Line Permit System has been working to submit a report to the Government on December 10, according to the committee's convenor RK Anand.
Speaking to some media persons today, MLA RK Anand said that collection of suggestions and opinions of experts on different subjects regarding the issue of implementing ILPS in the State has been completed.
A report based on the suggestions and opinions of legal experts, intellectuals, politicians and other experts would be submitted to the Government.
The Government, after studying the committee's report, is expected to take up certain measures within its own capacity, Anand confided.
Even as the convenor refused to divulge details of the report, he hinted that the report would not let down the people's expectation on ILPS.
He, however, maintained that it was unlikely to table the issue in the forthcoming winter session of the State Assembly.
On being enquired about the 6th Schedule, Anand said that the issue has not been considered as yet.
He maintained that he would oppose the issue if somebody raises it as it has the potential to affect all the 60 Assembly constituencies.
