Gaikhangam issues peace call to all

Home Minister Gaikhangam today urged the people of the state to live a peaceful life with no communal ill-feelings.
Speaking at the 6th State Conference of All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation (AIPSO), Manipur State Committee held at Hotel Imphal here today as Chief Guest, Gaikhangam observed that peace and tranquility should be maintained in a society to bring development.
Pointing out that AIPSO is one of the peace loving organizations, Gaikhangam observed that every time, peace and tranquility is disturbed in the world; peace loving organisations raise their voices so that people of the different communities and countries can live in peace.
In the present Manipuri society, people need to give up narrow mindset and work together for bringing peace and unity in the state, he exhorted.
General Secretary of AIPSO, Pallab Sengupta; President of Senior Citizen for Society, N Binoy; National Vice President of AIPSO, Dr Nara; General Secretary of AIPSO, Nilotpal Bose and President of AIPSO Manipur State Committee Dr Ch Jamini also attended the function as presidium members.
Later a discussion session was facilitated with former Vice Chancellor of Manipur University Prof IS Khaidem as moderator and retired Lt Col KO Singh and Retired Lt Col RS Jassal as main speakers.
Members of the executive committee of AIPSO Manipur State Committee were also elected today.
