Imphal, September 28 2022:
Chief coordinator of State unit of Janata Dal (United), Dr Nimaichand Luwang has asserted that none of the BJP Ministers and MLAs in Manipur including the Chief Minister himself follow the ideology of the party but loot the State by donning saffron.
He made the remark during a felicitation ceremony of the newly elected president of JD (U), State unit Ksh Biren and other office bearers of the party held at Pungdongdam Nongpok Ningthou Community Hall, today.
At the function, Dr Nimaichand continued that all the Ministers and MLAs of the BJP are pretenders.
He further stated that five JD (U) MLAs who joined BJP recently might have joined the party with a secret agenda to only secure their personal position.

Claiming that the purpose of 'Operation Lotus' being carried out under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah is to buy MLAs, Dr Nimaichand said that the BJP had bought five of its MLAs under 'Operation Lotus' too.
Dr Nimaichand also accused the BJP leaders at the Centre of striving to destabilize the Congress Government at Jharkhand.
Continuing that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar broke ties with BJP and formed an alliance with RJD to bring about a change in the political landscape of the country, he maintained that the BJP bought five JD (U) MLAs in Manipur to defeat Nitish Kumar and tarnish his image.
Stating that the JD (U) held its National Council meeting at Patna in the first half of September, he added that representatives of the State unit of the party also attended the meeting.
Maintaining that Kh Joykisan was also invited to attend the meeting but the MLA insisted on joining the meeting with other MLAs of JD (U), Dr Nimaichand said that JD (U) leaders booked rooms for the five MLAs at Patna and waited for their arrival at Patna airport.
However, the five MLAs went to Delhi and met leaders of BJP instead of boarding a flight to Patna, he added.
Similar development was also seen at Goa as eight of the 11 Congress MLAs joined the BJP recently, he said and added that the move was taken up to defame Rahul Gandhi who is currently on a Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Dr Nimaichand also claimed that BJP tried to buy some AAP MLAs in Delhi and Punjab too.
Asserting that the BJP is rolling out Operation Lotus as the party is aware of their impending defeat in the 2024 Parliamentary election, Dr Nimaichand maintained that the BJP will continue to intimidate the MLAs and Ministers of other parties by misusing Government agencies to secure the chair.
Ksh Biren, on the other hand, said that the Opposition parties of the country have started uniting with the main objective of defeating BJP.
Asserting that Mahagathbandhan Government will be formed at the Centre soon, he said that the BJP Government in Manipur will not last till 2027 too.
He also maintained that the parties which defy BJP in Manipur will work collectively to ensure non BJP MPs win the Parliamentary elections in the State too.
Saying that JD (U) is also against legalisation of liquor in Manipur, he urged the State Government to revoke the decision at the earliest.
Ksh Biren further said that any Government which formulate anti-people policy will not last long and added the double engine Government has failed to deliver the aspiration of the people.
